I put the Club Listings back in place with a more intuitive menu and slightly smarter design. When I have some time, I'll add
sanity checks for duplicates and required fields and then clean the database to rid it of the small amount of junk that got in.
In the interim, it's still very useful and just doesn't look perfect.
I will also be adding sanity checks for the resources datebase and have already added some sanity checking and error correction
to the profiles. Once I have everything working VERY smoothly (I'm thinking 3-4 weeks), I'll be expanding the resources
database and club listings database internationally. So if you have some info for places abroad, keep it handy.
Lastly... There's yet another project in the works for GotBlack.com and it's something I am sure almost all of you will find
useful. No details until it's done, but look for it to appear on the menu before the end of June.
Er.... One more thing. You can now print any page on the site without sucking up the black ink/toner. Just click the "Print
this page" link at the bottom center of any page to view a printer-friendly version. Print the results and hit the back
button to go back.

You can now view the resources so many wonderful people have been adding this past week. Just go to the stats area under "Resources" and click on any city or state.

Another day, another function on the site.
Today, I added the profile rating system. Some people have asked for it, so here it is. When you view a profile, just below
the "Send this profile to a friend" button is the rating form. Simply rate a profile from 1 (bad) to 10 (god/godess) and click
the "RATE IT" button. All profiles now show how many times they've been rated and that profile's average rating rounded to the
nearest whole number.
Don't forget to rate the profiles you like and use the "Send this profile to a friend" button to show them to other people.

Like all the other free Perl programs out there for adding cool things to a website, I couldn't find a good perl survey or poll
script that would be flexible enough to match the look of the site, so I just wrote something in PHP. On the right, you can
cast your vote in 2 polls and see the updated results the second you vote. I'm trying to get a better idea of where you are all
coming from and what sections of the site I should devote the most time to. I love doing the code and making this stuff work,
so tell me what you want and I'll do my best to make it happen.
Anyone have ideas for future polls? Let me know.

A word about profiles....
A lot of the profiles have either a broken image or a broken web URL or both. The broken images are caused by a few
different things. First is GeoCities and AngelFire trying to save bandwidth by making images unviewable from outside sources.
If you have your profile image on either GeoCities or AngelFire, email your profile image along with your profile name to
joi@gotblack.com and I'll fix it all up. Eventually I'll have the
images ALL stored on my server so we won't have issues. Another reason images don't show up is because someone added
their profile a long time ago and the image has since moved. Yet another reason is that the URL was entered without the
preceeding http:// This is also why some profiles' web URLs don't work. I'm trying to fix the ones I find by hand, but I'm
emailing the rest of the profile owners about theirs.
With any luck, I'll have this site in tip top shape soon. I'm slowly taking care of some older "bandaid" fixes and getting things
organized. Bear with me and please let me know if you have ideas, suggestions, or requests.
